Nature Connection

  • Nature connection is about feeling part of the natural world instead of separate from it. It means using your body and senses, rather than your logical brain, to notice the world around you and how it makes you feel. You don’t need to be outdoors all the time to experience it. Small things like natural light, houseplants, fresh air, or keeping nature objects nearby can help you feel grounded and in tune with your surroundings.

Naturekin’s workshops are professionally designed using best practices from forest bathing (shinrin-yoku), health psychology, and evidence-based science. Each session helps you reconnect with nature in simple, practical ways that support focus, rest, and a healthier nervous system.

  • You can absolutely connect with nature through an online session by tuning into what’s around you (like the light from a window, a houseplant, or a few stones on your desk). Getting outside is ideal and gets the strongest benefits, but sometimes that’s not an option due to mobility, time constraints or weather. Any nature connection is better than none!

Naturekin’s online workshops use these same proven principles from forest bathing and health psychology to help you connect with nature in simple, flexible, and accessible ways - no forest required.

  • Studies show that even digital nature exposure can reduce stress and improve mood compared to urban settings (Browning et al., 2023, Scientific Reports). Another classic study found that hospital patients with a view of trees recovered faster and needed less pain medication than those facing a wall (Ulrich, 1984, Science). More recent research also found that virtual forest walks can ease negative emotions and increase positive feelings for both younger and older adults (Yu et al., 2021, Frontiers in Psychology).

Everyone’s experience is different, so there’s no single way you might feel after a session. However, the research is clear that connecting with nature, even through a screen, can have measurable benefits for both your mind and body.

  • You’re paying for structure, guidance, and tools that make nature connection easy to fit into real life. Think of it like paying for a fitness class: you could do it on your own, but a guide helps you stay focused and get more out of it.

Also, Naturekin operates as social enterprise, meaning all revenue is reinvested back into offering programs. We think connecting with nature should be affordable and accessible. Learn more on our About page.

  • Only if you want it to be! Naturekin workshops are designed to be practical and science-informed, not spirituality or rituals (unless that’s meaningful to you). We provide guidance and prompts that you can interpret in different ways. Maybe you’re a busy professional who just wants a short break from the daily rat-race, or maybe you’re an experienced yoga participant who wants to feel more spiritually connected to nature. There’s no wrong answer!

While many people do feel a spiritual connection to nature, our goal at Naturekin is to teach you small ways to bring nature into your life to experience the proven benefits. We will never try to sell you magical crystals, false advertising, or things you don’t need.
